A Day For The Ladies : Supporting San Diego Women

sooooo THIS EVENT WAS AMAZING. And I’m not just saying that because I want you to have FOMO and come on my next trip… haha, even though I do want you to come next time… but, it really was amazing. Twelve of us women got together and spent the day supporting women owned businesses around San Diego! We rode around in a limo bus, shared stories over champagne, ate the BEST Mexican food, designed jewelry AND walked away with goodies from local makers and shakers!!!   But how did this even become a thing?  I was hoping you’d ask…

In honor of International Women’s Day, which is every year on March 8th, (for those of you who didn’t know) I thought another Wildflower adventure was in order! Day trips have been on my radar for a while and I couldn’t think of a better opportunity to day drink AND support local women…. HAHAH. It was most definitely NOT about the day drinking, and ALLL about the supporting women!! Anyways, getting women together, getting to know new people, stepping out of comfort zones, its what I am aaaaaaalllll about, so this event meant a lot to me. There was a good amount of women who didn’t know one another, and came, blindly, hoping for the best. It still means so much to me when people take a chance on me. I will always appreciate you people who believe in me <3 <3

I digress…

So when I had the idea to hold this event, I knew we HAD to get a ride, and one with styyyyle. Thankfully my go -to-girl, Hilda, at Aall In Limo, had us covered! We were able to cruise around town, SAFELY without worrying about all that comes with driving around and coordinating a group.  Then, the real important details… WHO TO SUPPORT?!?! There are SOOOO many incredible places in San Diego, and cool enough, lots of them are owned by women! Since I couldn’t take a week off of work, I had to limit the stops to three. The FIRST place that came to my mind was, You and Yours Distilling Company. Not only am I a major fan of Gin, but the drinks are unbelievable and the decor is to die for. I would move in, if they let me.

The owner Laura Johnson is a distilling goddess, and has completely changed the game!! Since opening You and Yours in 2017, her distillery has become a destination distillery in California! By the time we all had a cocktail or two, we were more than ready to eat! We made our way to Del Sur Cantina, where we enjoyed quite the spread!!! To start we had diablo margaritas, breakfast cocktails mango chili margaritas, house margaritas, street corn, bean flautas && a cantina salad. It was merely a few moments when the carne asada plates, chilaquiles, jackfruit tacos, various burritos, mole enchiladas and tacos came out… and we were basically living our best lives right about now.

Once we had our way with all the Cantina goodness it was time to hit the road to the next destination, the Kendra Scott Color Bar! We made our way to the UTC Mall in La Jolla...which, if you have been here you already know how AMAZING this mall is. We wandered around Nordstrom, trying on perfume, sunglasses and just roaming around, as one does... When we finally made our way to Kendra Scott, we were greeted with champagne and macaroons! HOW FREAKING CUTE IS THAT?!?! These girls knew how to shop! So if you aren't familiar with how to Kendra Color Bar works here's a little run down of how it goes...You are able to choose from 100+ styles of products ranging from earrings, necklaces,  bracelets, rings, the list goes on and on, (they have like 10 categories).  Once you choose the design you want to customize,  you get to choose from over 30+ stones to create your custom piece!! We each left with at least one custom piece we could take home as a reminder of the amazing day we all had together.
