Home of Robin Hood and Little John, Nottingham.

We arrived in the late at night. It was the coldest it has ever been since we've been abroad. With no hostel booked, Camden and I retreated to good ol Starbucks to sort out our plans. We began chatting with a lady who was so interested in our travel plans. When we were set to leave, she handed me a plastic heart filled with Chapstick, toothpaste and chocolate. Our first and only Valentine. It warmed my heart so much. I love when genuine gestures take one aback. We thanked and headed to our home for the night. Midtown Hostel. Which I HIGHLY recommend by the way. It's small but clean with a great staff. Can't ask for more than that! As we were relaxing in the common area, I looked out the window and screamed, "ITS SNOOWWWING!!!!!!" The Russian man sitting next to me started laughing at my pure excitement. We ran down the stairs and began spinning around and dancing in the snow. Camden and I shared a snowy valentines kiss before the snow let up and we went back into the hostel. It was a great way to spend our first night! In the morning we finally relaxed. We took our time having breakfast and planning out our travel plans once we left our friends house (that we would be at later that day). We decided to make our way up to Scotland and check it out! Why not?! After all it was only a five hour train ride away. Once that was sorted we got ahold of our friends, Sarah and Daniel who had invited us to stay at their home for a few days! We had met this couple two years back in Thailand and had kept in touch ever since! We met up with them and it was as if no time had ever passed, except their family of two was a family of three now!! We got to meet their precious little Rose and caught up over some lunch. We headed back to their house, got all settled in and felt right at home. We all opted to watch guardians of the galaxy and drink some pints instead of heading back out into the town. It's funny how little things like relaxing at home and just watching tv can be such a novelty once you're unable to anymore. It was just what we needed. To slow down and enjoy ourselves. Sarah had a day planned for us the next day so we headed off to bed to see what was in store! Fully rested, Camden and I woke up excited for the day's activities. Sarah told us we were going to Bakewell. A little town with cute shops, tea rooms and a beautiful lake with lots of ducks and swans (Camdens favorite!!). Once we arrived we headed straight to the Lavender Tea Rooms. It was quite chilly and we needed something to warm ourselves up! This tea room was so cute!! It was adorned with various antiques and had a posh feel to it. Very fancy! We had ordered the infamous Bakewell tart and Bakewell pudding, only found in the city of Bakewell. They were both delicious! After tea, Rose was a getting a bit hungry so we headed over to Peacock Pub to have a light lunch. We had some great conversations while we where here and compared American and British culture and government. It was very interesting and fun to learn all about the differences! We continued through the village, admiring all the handiwork of the locals. It was so hard not to buy everything in sight, everything was so cute! And I don't know about you but when I'm traveling sometimes I have a complex where I think I need to buy it now or never because obviously it doesn't exist anywhere else in the world and I'll never be able to come back again hahahahah. Anyways......We ended our time at Bakewell by feeding the ducks and swans. Weirdly enough, all the birds here have been super friendly. We all enjoyed ourselves (maybe more than we should). As we were waking back to the car we noticed a bridge with loads of locks on them! Another love lock bridge (I believe they are getting quite famous all over). But I was so excited!!!! We headed back to Sarah and Daniel's place to have some dinner and eat some amazing sweet and sour chicken! We woke up early the next morning to head off to Warwick castle!! The castle's construction began in the early 1000's and was surprisingly very well preserved with little restoration! We explained the grounds and experienced the dungeon and dark corners of the estate. It was a fantastic experience!! The atmosphere of the castle seemed to take me back into history. I imagined each battle, the lives lost, the lives that thrived, the lives that just survived. With each passing year, so much history filled those walls. I was thankful to just be a part of it. It was freezing cold, colder than I've ever been in my life. But it didn't phase me, I was having a great time! Even if I couldn't feel my fingers or toes anymore! After five hours of exploring we headed back to the homestead for some movies, nachos and fajitas. Again AMAZING food! And surprisingly good Mexican food for once!!! I loved it! Sarah and Daniel were so sweet! It was Camdens birthday the following day, when we would be heading up to Scotland. They turned off all the lights and surprised Camden with a birthday cake that read "you're fab!". It was something I will always remember and cherish. I know it meant a lot to Camden as well. We had some beers that Daniel had Brewer himself and spent the night beside the fire. It was a great way to end our stay with or lovely friends in their sweet town! It was a sad day the following morning. Goodbyes were said and many hugs were given. Sarah dropped Camden and I off at the train stop where our next journey would begin! Upping arriving at the station, a nice man cooking at a cafe gave us free breakfast and we were on our way. Our experience here was heart warming and just what we needed. To slow down and fully experience the town we were in, beside the people we were with. We already miss Nottingham and all it has to offer! We will definitely come back and see our dear friends and growing Rose! Thank you so much Sarah and Daniel! Your hospitality and genuine friendship mean the world to Camden and I. We LOVED meeting Rose. You two are fabulous parents and she is so lucky to have you two as parents! Our San Diego door is always open for you. Much love and many thanks!          To follow our journey in even more depth please check out our other social media outlets! Instagram: @christinabammbina @marlon_cramdo#boygirlandtheworldYouTube: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCC9qwNoy9QSRXLHKgoKLHtw
